Privacy by staying local.
Aerie is designed so your planner, notes, focus history, calendar details, and app-presence information remain on your Mac.
Information Aerie accesses
- Calendar and reminders: only after you grant macOS permission. Access is read-only and used to display relevant items in the app.
- Running applications: Aerie checks local process and window information to show supported work apps and let you return to them.
- Notifications: only after permission, for reminders, meetings, and completed focus sessions.
Information stored
Tasks, notes, preferences, focus sessions, the trial receipt, and license status are stored locally in Application Support or the macOS Keychain. Planner exports are created only when you choose a destination.
Diagnostics
Apple MetricKit diagnostics are retained locally for up to 30 days. Aerie does not automatically upload them. A support report is exported only when you choose Export Diagnostics, and it excludes planner and calendar content.
Network requests
Aerie may contact aerie.work to check for signed software updates or when you explicitly open purchase, privacy, or support pages. Aerie contains no advertising SDK and no cross-app tracking.
Feedback
When you choose Send Feedback, your email application opens with the app version and macOS version. You decide what to send. Email is then handled by your mail provider and ours.
Retention and deletion
You can export your planner at any time. Removing Aerie’s Application Support folder and its Aerie entries in Keychain deletes locally stored app data. Emails are retained only as needed to answer and maintain support records.
